I’ve worked on a fair amount of Super Bowl ads, taking ideas and making sure people talk about them online. I was part of the teams for Radio Shack and Avocados from Mexico. Both brands took the internet by storm and were among the most talked about campaigns of the year. RadioShack even had five trending topics on Twitter at the same time.
DEGREES OF PERFECT was a first-of-its-kind exhibition that transformed murals with precise temperature. Using thermochromic paint and a custom canvas engineered with Lennox® HVAC technology, we brought art to life. Each of the 30 foot murals told a unique visual story that evolved throughout the evening.
The combination of technology and craft tapped the interest of a diverse crowd. The opening was filled with tastemakers from around LA and was covered by everyone from Creativity to Popular Mechanics, delivering Lennox an audience they don’t often capture: Art + Engineering.

We relaunched the iconic Don’t Mess With Texas in the only way that made sense, making trashcans. We littered the state with our cans, each with a special line for that location. “THIS IS NOT ART” can be found in Marfa, “THE BEST TRASHCAN IN THE COUNTRY” is at the Bluebell factory.
Other than Marfa, these are all pictures other people have posted online.
Whiskey has always been a nighttime drink: dark, complex, an acquired taste. To launch Cascade Blonde we brought it into the light and positioned it as a daytime whiskey. Mix it with lemonade, get near a lake and have fun with your friends. This new approach proved to be one of Diageo’s most successful launches in key locations.
To build awareness for Austin’s new bike-share program, we partnered with Dell and a few local bands to create BEAT BIKES. Using the music stems, each bike represented a different musical instrument, and the faster you petaled, the faster each instrument played.

Sometimes you need a road trip, a horse trip, a clear your head trip.
As part of the Toyland spot for RadioShack, I went to Weird Al's house to render his head in 3D... During this shoot I also steered a quadcopter into his head, getting it caught in his hair, having to cut it out.
Sometimes you need to bring an idea to life in under a week. We wrapped the building, took out a window, and used transparent film for a low-tech, highly functional Automated Taco Machine.
The best thing about the Super Bowl, the roads are empty as hell. This spot ran before Super Bowl and NCAA March Madness.

We signed RadioShack up for Reddit Secret Santa, and we delivered. We worked with our mark’s girlfriend to deliver everything from a 3D Printer to HDTV, not only delivering an awesome Christmas, but becoming one of the top 10 highest ranked Secret Santa gifts for several years.
Maize Bakery makes some of the most delicious cookies you’ve ever put into your face. They asked me to take some product shots that show off the the ingredients and love that go into each bite.

The tech world takes over Austin during SXSW, and sometimes all you want to do is escape it. We used FourSquare and Instagram data to find locations where people weren’t, so you could avoid humans. We were listed as one of the most important innovations to come out of SXSW, just behind the launch of Twitter.

We turned Jamie Foxx into a talking minivan to sell more Chrysler Pacificas.
I’ll post my own videos soon, but for now visit Joel’s page by clicking the image.
If you’re gonna buy a new RAM, you’ve gotta sell your other truck first. This campaign was designed to prod the competition by calling out specific features in our new trucks.

A camera allows you to get away with a lot. I use it to try out ideas, remember stuff, get in places.
